Yazghulami Language Development Project

The Yazghulami language development team has collaborated with members of the community to refine an alphabet in Cyrillic script based on the prior work of linguists Joy Edelman, Leila Dodykhudoeva, and Ismoil Rahimi. A picture dictionary illustrating everyday terms has been printed, and a book of Yazghulami folktales with translations into Tajik and English is in progress. We have published a short wordlist as a searchable dictionary on Webonary.org, and we continue to regularly expand the content of this dictionary.

Yaghnobi Language Development Project

There should be a few words about the project here. What has been done and what are the plans.

Parya Language Development Project

Building on the work of the renowned Russian Linguist, Oranskii, we have compared and documented the evolving grammar of Parya. A grammar sketch of the language is being reviewed by expert linguists before publication. An orthography has been developed in an adapted cryillic script and as the language community uses this writing system in addition to ongoing phonological research, adjustments are made to the orthography with the input of the Parya community. Job Development Training

We have organized tailoring courses for women from minority communities. The courses were organized with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan. After completing the courses, five women received state certificates, which will allow them not only to sew, but also to teach sewing courses to others.
